EMERGE FROM CLUTTER™

Getting To The Root Of Disorganization

Helping perpetually disorganized people clear their clutter and gain a sense of calm and peace in just 12 weeks!

Welcome!

Hi, I’m Kate, a therapist and coach with over two decades of experience.  I’m also a homeowner, wife, mother, and neurodivergent adult who has had to deal with my own disorganization.

As a therapist, I’ve studied somatic therapies. ‘Soma’ means of the body. Somatic therapy uses what you feel and sense in your body, as opposed to your conscious thoughts, as a means of information.

Noticing feelings and sensations in the body will help you break long-term patterns and make clearer decisions far more effectively than just logical thinking or following directives.

The more I learned and practiced somatic therapies, the more I realized that nervous system work is the key to creating calm, functional spaces.

Unfortunately, I learned this the hard way.  Like you, I purchased home organization programs and bins on the quest for the magic formula.  It wasn’t until I applied the somatic lessons and other therapeutic tools to these organizing programs that I was able to make significant progress in my home.

I know that with these tools and basic organizing principles I can help you create calm, organized spaces in your home.

In 2023, I am launching my coaching program, Emerge From Clutter™. This is a small group, 12-week program where I will share with you my best tools including my Freeze To Ease Framework™ (more on that below) and support you every step of the journey.

Together we will move you from piles of clutter to organized spaces while providing you with the life-changing ability to be able to understand yourself through a “somatic lens”.

I can’t wait to meet you and support you on this journey as you learn to Emerge from Clutter™! As a first step be sure to join the newsletter list.

The FREEZE TO EASE FRAMEWORK™

I’ve combined my professional and personal knowledge to create the Freeze to Ease Framework™. This tool guides you from the decision-making phase through the completion of a task–no matter how big or small.

Tune Into You

Your nervous system relays powerful information. Its language comes in the forms of sensations in the body, images, colors, thoughts, and behaviors.

Act With Confident Clarity

When your belief system (thoughts) and your nervous system (sensations) align, you can "trust what you know" and "know what you trust." This enables you to take action with confidence.

Feel Your Power

When you act with Confident Clarity, there is an internal sense of power and strength that helps you sustain momentum, overcome hurdles, and ensure you are on the right path towards your goals.

Relax!

Knowing how to effectively communicate to your systems that it's time to rest, relax, and rejuvenate.

EMERGE FROM CLUTTER™ PROGRAM

Emerge From Clutter™ is for the people--like me--who often feel left at the starting line when following traditional organizing programs, systems, and advice.

I want to pause for a moment to share something very important with you…

If you’ve been struggling to get organized and reach your goals…This is not your fault!

There’s something you must know…

Most organizing programs and systems are not set up for you to succeed.

Let me explain…

1.) Most programs are focused on taking action and gaining results in the areas that you are organizing instead of focusing on you and how you take care of yourself in this organizing process. For instance, how you gain clarity about where to start.

It’s not that you are lazy or lacking knowledge and motivation. The reality for most of us is that the act of organizing can bring about a lot of anxiety and overwhelm and wind up being an exhausting process. Really, why would we put ourselves through this?

In Emerge From Clutter™ you will be supported to approach organizing and clearing clutter in a new way. We will evaluate your spaces through the lens of your nervous system with tools to help you make the right choices for you, trust your decisions, and listen to your nervous system for guidance. With these tools, you will be able to confidently organize any space and overcome the emotional obstacles that are holding you back.

2.) Traditional organizing programs fail to remember that many of your items have stories and emotional connections so organizing can quickly become pretty complex.

Organizing is about how you relate to your items as well as how you relate to yourself. Organizing is a process, not a simple “one and done” chore.

As you handle your items you may find that you are overwhelmed and in a state of freeze. Perhaps you second guess yourself, become anxious, lose energy, or disconnect and become robotic as you “power through.”

In Emerge From Clutter™, I teach the necessary tools to address overwhelm, to ground yourself, and to move forward with self-compassion and purpose. We will also address how Executive Functioning impacts organization which is helpful to everyone including those with ADHD or other neuro-divergencies.

3.) Finally, most organizing programs expect you to go at it alone or with the limited support of a Facebook group.

If our homes and our possessions are some of the most important factors in how we live, work, and share our stories, don’t they deserve to be addressed in a supportive community where you can get your questions answered, share you successes, and be connected to others going through the same process?

This is why Emerge From Clutter™ is based on community and support:

    • Participation is limited to a maximum of twelve participants per cohort. This allows me to get to know you and support you as you work through the courses.
    • Weekly Check-In Sessions to answer any questions you have about the course material, help you continue to make progress, and connect to other participants and me.
    • Private group page that allows you to access the materials, chat with one another, and track your progress without needing to have a social media account. This also helps you focus solely on the program and not be distracted by a friend’s post or ads popping up.
    • Finally, and perhaps best of all…Bi-Monthly Co-Working Sessions with BOTH myself and a professional organizer. Research shows there are tremendous benefits in completing tasks with other people. In the two-hour sessions, we will leverage the benefits of co-working with professional support to empower you to organize a space in your home. The professional organizer can answer any questions you have for how to physically organize and declutter the spaces, and I will be there to help you address overwhelm and apply the tools you are learning so that you can act with confident clarity.

Emerge From Clutter™ combines two of my favorite things: Nervous System Work and living a self-compassionate life, which means setting up your life for success! You deserve to live a life that feels nurturing and supportive. You deserve to live in spaces where you don’t have to work so hard to find that piece of paper or lost item. When your external environment is aligned with your internal systems, you are able to live your best life and have the most impact on your home, family, and community.

This is the program I have always wanted and that I know so many people need. I hope you will join us in the next cohort. Remember, space is limited so that I can provide you with the best coaching for you and your needs.

OVERVIEW OF EMERGE FROM CLUTTER™ Course

Part 1: The Basics

This is the foundational piece where you will learn about the relationship of your nervous system to the spaces in your home. We will complete a Nervous System Map and learn daily practices that promote an increase in regulation and capacity.

Part 2: Our "Stuff"

In this section, you will learn how to address any core beliefs that are holding you back. You will also learn how to set boundaries and write a new script full of possibilities.

Part 3: Moving from Clarity to Action

A key step that is often overlooked by other organizing programs, we will look at the full cycle of completion by taking the clarity found in parts one and two and adding in systems for effective action. When done systematically you will be able to move from a state of action to one of satisfaction and relaxation in your home and life.

Bonus: Professional Organizing

This course focuses on the deep, inner work that helps move you from a state of freeze to a state of calm action where you are not only more effective but able to stay on top of things. However, I understand the need for wanting some quick wins which is why I have partnered with professional organizers to offer you two live, group organizing sessions a month. I will also be in these sessions in case you become overwhelmed and need re-grounded.
